Research Lead
(Part-time, with the potential to progress to Full-time)
Plurality Institute is seeking a Research Lead to join our small and dynamic team. Your primary responsibilities will be to curate cutting edge research and help build our research community.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Holds a graduate degree or currently enrolled in graduate studies
Academic research experience
Interest in multiple research domains across the plurality field (e.g. computer science, political science, sociology, economics, ethics, peacekeeping, web3)
Strong interpersonal skills, with a knack for networking and establishing connections with an array of stakeholders
Enthusiastic about enhancing community ties and warmly integrating new researchers into our network
Passionate about curating and sharing new research to elevate the breadth and depth of knowledge within our field
Responsibilities:
Community Building: Welcome and incorporate new researchers, ensuring diversity and inclusivity in all facets of our initiatives.
Networking: Represent Plurality Institute, establishing connections and fortifying partnerships with various stakeholders including academic and industry researchers, grantees, fellows, entrepreneurs, and leaders from diverse sectors.
Institution Building: Help universities and member researchers establish Plurality programs at their institutions, learning from and building on the experience of other network members.
Program Development: Assist with the design and execution of our Fellows program and lead communications with our grantees.
Research Curation: Aggregate, curate, and disseminate pivotal research across numerous fields in alignment with the mission of Plurality Institute.

Plurality Institute is a community hub for researchers developing and studying plural technologies, those which facilitate cooperation across social differences. We believe that true progress and innovation emerge when a diversity of brilliant minds come together. We host a range of events to help make that happen, including an annual industry-wide conference, symposia on focused topic areas, and online workshops. We also promote events from our partners across the plurality ecosystem.
Our work supports cutting edge research that helps foster diversity and cooperation in areas such as collective intelligence, deliberative democracy, technology for social inclusion, and more. Our research network includes academics from across disciplines, including computer science, political science, philosophy and sociology, as well industry researchers, civil and governmental leaders and a growing range of practitioners working in fields from Artificial Intelligence to Peacekeeping.
